Loving God, Loving People, Making Jesus Known
It is impossible to love God and not love people. Everything we do at Life Foursquare serves as a means by which we love God and our neighbor. This is in response to Jesus’ answer when asked which of the commandments was the greatest: “You must love the Lord you God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Matthew 22:37-39)
Our Pastors
Mark + Lynn Cooper
Pastors Mark and Lynn attended Life BIble College East where they met and later married. They have three children: Elijah, Isabella, and Magnolia. Pastor Mark and Lynn served in Vermilion, OH, for five years prior to moving to Decatur in 2010. Together, they served as NextGen Pastors for nearly six years before becoming our lead pastors in April 2016. Mark and Lynn have a passion to lead people into a relevant and dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ, train leaders, and impact their community.

We believe that the Bible is inspired, flawless, and God-breathed; it is the Word of the Lord.

Salvation
Salvation is a gift from the Lord and is only received through declaring Jesus as Lord and belief that God raised Him from the dead. It is an act of the Lord’s grace alone. Salvation is never earned through what we do, and it impacts not only our future eternal home, but also how we live in this world.

Jesus Christ
Jesus is God’s Son. He is completely man and completely God. By fulfilling the calling on His life – to be crucified, killed, and then resurrected – He broke the dominion of sin in this world and opened up the opportunity for all to receive God’s salvation.

Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the Helper Jesus promised to send us. His role is to teach and to remind us of God’s Word. God’s Spirit also exists to glorify and attest to the Lord through His gifts and fruits.

Redemption
Redemption is restoration brought to what was once broken. When Jesus dies, He freed us from the power of sin; we are redeemed back to full restoration in life with Him, ourselves, and others.

Serving Others
As our hearts are changed, we begin to shift focus off of ourselves and onto serving and helping others.

People Change
The Lord has authored new over the old; we are not who we once were. Through the grace of God and the change His Spirit ushers in our lives, we are new people. We are not identified by the circumstances we’ve walked through, but by the new life we have in Christ. The old is gone and the new has come.

Family
Through Jesus, we have become one body and one family. Therefore, we choose to live, love, and grow together as a family, where it is our privilege to care for one another and be a part of each other’s journey.

Word
The Word of God is the foundation of truth in the lives of believers because it communicates the heart of God. Everything we do must align with what God says.
Worship
Worship is our response to God. We believe this happens both corporately at church and out in the world as we live our lives.
Prayer
Fellowship
We as the Church cannot function as islands; Scripture tells us the importance of sharing our lives with one another. Through this process, we are encouraged, comforted, grown, and so much more.
